Others, on a train station bench, with a suitcase and a silent tear. There are mothers with no one to talk to, nothing to eat, and nowhere to sleep. And yet, they choose life.

Some of us live peaceful lives, with days that look alike and nights without fear. But in Valea Screzii, every day someone cries in silence, someone waits for a person to say, “You are not alone.” Volunteers are those who hear these tears before they become cries. They are the ones who sit next to the abandoned child, the frightened mother, the elderly forgotten by the world – and say from the heart: “I am here.”

“Home” – for some, it means a warm room; for others, a voice calling their name. For us, those who grew up in orphanages or were left to fate, “home” never existed. It was a broken window, a hospital bed, a corner of a room where we cried without anyone hearing us. We learned to stay silent, not to ask, not to dream.
